Dynamic After-School Sessions

Our after-school sessions are tailored for lower primary school children, providing a curriculum-based, musical experience beyond the regular school day. Led by passionate Edu-Sing teachers, each session offers a blend of singing, musical games, and activities that cater to the diverse interests and energy levels of our young participants.

Collaboration with Local Schools

We collaborate with schools to host our after-school programs, ensuring a seamless integration into the school community. Edu-Sing becomes an extension of your school’s commitment to providing holistic and enriching experiences for students.

FAQs

Q: Will this be a lot of effort for our school to implement?
A: Not at all! The school simply needs to provide a space (e.g., hall), decide which afternoon suits best, and distribute our flyer. As an experienced company working in many public and Catholic schools, we have all systems in place to ensure a streamlined process. We communicate directly and regularly with registered families, so the school doesn’t need to be involved. If required, we are happy to provide the school with a list of registered students.

Q: Our school already has a music teacher – why would we want Edu-Sing, too?
A: It’s fantastic that your school values the power of music education! Edu-Sing is a complementary co-curricular program designed to enhance existing initiatives. Our sessions are not only educational but also incredibly fun for students, and highly convenient for parents.

Q: Our school already has a choir – will Edu-Sing impact our numbers?
A: Many schools offer choirs for upper-primary students, while our sessions cater to younger students (K-Y3). For schools fortunate enough to have lower-primary choirs, Edu-Sing can boost interest and ability in singing, positively contributing to the overall school choir.

Q: How does Edu-Sing work with after-school care?
A: Some of our students participate in both Edu-Sing and after-school care. Our staff are happy to escort these students to the onsite after-school care location after each Edu-Sing session.

Q: What sort of space does Edu-Sing require?
A: A school hall or music room is ideal, but we can conduct our sessions anywhere, including the library or classrooms. An enclosed space is highly preferred, and students will need access to toilets (we can escort them for toilet breaks). We are happy for the school to confirm the space once registration numbers are known.

Q: Is Edu-Sing a choir?
A: No, Edu-Sing is not a choir. Our program includes singing, musical games, and weekly lessons on key elements of musical theory. We also incorporate plenty of movement to keep young children engaged and active throughout the session.

Q: Why does Edu-Sing have mixed-age sessions?
A: We find that mixed-age sessions work exceptionally well. Children of any age have a wide range of singing and musical abilities, and mixed-age sessions allow us to effectively accommodate and nurture this diversity. Parents report that students enjoy getting to know peers from different year levels. Younger students often “buddy” with older ones, forming special bonds.

Q: Our school is unsure if there is sufficient interest for Edu-Sing. Should we ask for expressions of interest?
A: We’ve found that asking for registrations is the most reliable approach. In the unlikely event that registrations are insufficient, Edu-Sing will communicate with and refund families who have registered. To date, we haven’t had to cancel any classes.

Q: What regulatory compliance does Edu-Sing have in place?
A: Edu-Sing has Public Liability Insurance ($20M) and Workers Compensation Insurance in accordance with the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023. All of our staff hold Working With Children (WWC) Cards. Additionally, we provide adequate staffing to maintain safe student ratios, and do not require any school staff.

Q: How does Edu-Sing handle allergies when distributing afternoon tea?
A: When children are registered for Edu-Sing, parents can specify any allergies or medical conditions. We ensure children with allergies receive allergen-free afternoon tea options and maintain a ‘nut-aware’ policy. Additionally, our staff have completed a refresher on anaphylaxis and EpiPens. (Please note that we do not carry our own EpiPens.)

Q: What does Edu-Sing do in the event of a medical episode?
A: Our Edu-Sing teachers have received a First Aid refresher and have access to emergency contacts for each student. In case of an emergency, they are prepared to call 000 and follow appropriate protocols.
